Niu Hui: In the first half of 2019, the bearing industry will continue its development trend in the second half of this year

Niu Hui, deputy secretary-general of China Bearing Industry Association, delivered a brilliant speech at this special steel annual meeting.

Niu Hui pointed out that China's bearing industry has experienced three stages of development: from scratch, from small to large, and from weak to strong. At present, the domestic bearing industry is the third largest in the world, and a complete and independent industrial system has been established.

Since 2018, 119 major enterprises in China have completed their main business income of 71.9 billion yuan in January-October, an increase of 6.09% year-on-year, a decline of 147 percentage points from 7.56% last month; 119 enterprises have completed their bearing business income of 57.3 billion yuan, an increase of 9% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.43 percentage points from last month, double-fold lower than the average level of major enterprises.

Niu Hui believes that the current industry development is facing the weakening of investment driving force and unfavourable factors of Sino-US trade disputes. At the same time, there are also positive factors such as the active adjustment of national fiscal and monetary policies, and the increase of export tax rebate from 15% to 16%. The first half of 2019 will continue the development trend of the second half of 2018.

In terms of future prospects, Made in China 2025 proposes that 8 of the 10 key development areas need a large number of high-end bearing matching. They are: 1. High-grade data machine tools and robots; 2. Aerospace equipment; 3. Marine engineering equipment and high-tech ships; 4. Energy-saving and new energy vehicles; 5. Advanced rail transit equipment; 6. Electric equipment; 7. Biomedical and high-performance medical equipment; 8. Agricultural machinery and equipment; 9. Other areas. Complete the development shortboard of bearing steel quality level, bearing special equipment quality level and bearing roller quality level.

In the development trend of bearing steel, Niu Hui pointed out that at present, the total amount of bearing steel used in the bearing industry in China is more than 4 million tons, there are more than 20 special steel enterprises with large bearing steel production capacity in the country, and the standard of bearing steel in China is constantly improving, but there is a big gap with the advanced foreign standards, the quality of technology and equipment is not uniform, the quality control is not strict, and the quality supervision mechanism has not been formed. R&D is weak. The ways to improve the technical quality level of bearing steel in China are as follows: 1. Carefully implement the new standard of "High Carbon Chromium Bearing Steel"; 2. Organize the industrial application of new bearing steel to tackle key problems; 3. Strengthen the supervision of the second party (users) of bearing steel quality; 4. Strengthen research and development.
