Shandong Bearing industry has high professional degree and delicate division of work, so the working efficiency is 1.2 times as the average level of bearing industry while the economic benefit is 7.2 times as average level. Besides, Shandong bearing enterprises have higher opening level, and the export amount occupies over half of provincial overall production amount and overall export amount. During the rapid development of Shandong bearing industry, there are also some problems as well as superiorities. Compared with World Top 8 Brands, there is still a long way to go. The main differences are:
First, Low industry concentration. The bearing factories are very many but most of them are of small scale. Lots of enterprises are still carry out low level repeating production. Some enterprises still keep family management model. Therefore, from the point of single enterprise, the bearing industry is neither big nor strong.
Second, Weak capability of independent innovation. The research investment input is not efficient, and there are few bearing productions of independent intelligent property right and high technology level. Most bearings are common products and the bearing varieties are relatively single.
Third, comparing with world level products, the product quality still needs to be improved. The service life, reliability, stability and performance retentivity of local bearings are still not on a par with worldwide advanced bearings products. Some can not even match with some main engines at home, so some import products still are still needed to meet local needs.
Fourth, though lots of bearings are exported to abroad, most of them are of small size and low-tech content. So most of the export bearings are used for maintenance, but not for matching foreign main engine.
