Service life (single bearing): The time before the first indication of fatigue spreading on one ferrule or washer or materials of a roller, the number of revolutions of a ferrule or washer to another ferrule or washer. Service life can also be expressed as the number of hours that the bearing can work at a given constant speed.
Median life of bearing: The service life of the rolling bearing that a set of nearly identical roller bearings’ 50X running under the same condition can reach or exceed.
Rated life of bearing: Life prediction based on radial or axial basic dynamic load rating.
Basic rated life of bearing: The rated life related with 90% reliability.
Adjusted rated life of bearing: The rated life obtained by adjusting basic rated life with consideration of over 90% reliability and/or non-conventional material characteristics and unconventional operating conditions.
Median rated life of bearing: Rated life related with 50% reliability, that is, the predicated median life based on radial or axial basic dynamic load rating.
